About this story
In the cold, snowy north, a little white fox named Lumi wakes in her frosty den and peeks out at a world of sparkling white snow. Curiosity fills her heart: 'What is beyond those snowy hills?' Step by step, she walks bravely across the crunchy snow — small steps can lead to big adventures. Meanwhile, by a warm window, Mia and Leo follow along, imagining her journey as it happens. When a big storm comes roaring and the winds howl, Lumi finds shelter under a tall pine tree's wide branches — and there, a snowy owl lands gently nearby: she is not alone anymore. Lumi shares the red berries from her small bag with her new friend, and the watching children say what the story has been showing all along: 'When we give to others, we get something beautiful back — friendship!' Then Lumi walks on until she sees something amazing: a wide river frozen solid like glass, shimmering far across the quiet white land. A snowy, sparkling journey story about curiosity, courage, kindness, and wonder.

What Parents Say
Families sharing their experiences with our books and family safety tools.
After reading this, my daughter started asking about how lighthouses work and we ended up looking up videos together. Anything that gets her that curious is a win in my book.
The rhythm of this book is so soothing. It's become our Sunday-morning read. The river metaphor opened up a real conversation about listening to nature with my kids.
A beautiful, quiet story. On high-energy days my 6-year-old can't sit through it, but on calm evenings it's perfect. The language is genuinely lovely.
